Two full days dedicated to humpback whales

Spend two full days on the water searching for magnificent humpback whales.

For the swimmer, there are opportunities to enter the water when conditions and whale behaviour allow. Seeing a humpback beneath the surface—and perhaps hearing its song travelling through the ocean—is an extraordinary experience.

For the supporter, enjoy whale watching from the boat, taking in the action above the surface and the beauty of Tonga’s island surroundings.

Every encounter is different, led by the whales and the conditions on the day.

Swallows Cave, lava tubes and a white-sand finish

One of our two larger swims takes the swimmer from Swallows Cave to a beautiful white-sand beach, following a coastline with lava-tube features and changing underwater scenery.

Supporters can enjoy the coastal scenery from the boat before joining the beach stop and lunch—sharing the destination without swimming the distance.

Sea cliffs and a spectacular coral garden

Our second larger swim explores dramatic sea cliffs and a coral garden stretching for almost a kilometre.

The swimmer can choose from distance options of approximately 1 km, 2 km or up to 4 km, with support boats and a swim safety tow float provided.

For the supporter, it’s a chance to enjoy the coastline from above the water, take photographs and soak up the island scenery.

An island holiday for the supporter, too

You don’t need to be a swimmer to enjoy Tonga. Alongside the boat outings and shared beach lunch, there’s time to make the most of your surroundings at a more relaxed pace.

Book with a $2,500 deposit for two

Secure both places with a $2,500 deposit, equivalent to $1,250 per person, credited towards your total package price.

This booking covers one swimmer and one supporter. The payment is the deposit only, not the full package price. The remaining balance is payable according to your booking payment schedule.

Before you travel

The swimmer should be comfortable swimming in open water and getting in and out of a boat. The supporter does not need to participate in the swims but should be comfortable with boat travel and boarding and disembarking during outings.

Whale sightings and in-water encounters cannot be guaranteed. All whale activities depend on weather, sea conditions, whale behaviour and the operating crew’s instructions. Swim routes, supporter activities and the order of outings may change to suit conditions.
